Delete your KOmpare account
Last updated: October 3, 2026
This page explains how to delete your account in KOmpare TCG, the
card-show point-of-sale app published by dab Media LLC (developer
name on Google Play and the App Store), and what happens to your data when you do.
Before you start: cancel KOmpare Pro
If you subscribe to KOmpare Pro through the App Store or Google Play,
deleting your account does not cancel the subscription — only Apple
or Google can. Cancel it first (see Support for the steps), or you
may keep being charged. Subscriptions bought on the web are cancelled automatically when
the account is deleted.
Option 1: delete in the app
- Open KOmpare TCG and make sure you are signed in.
- Open the menu and tap your name at the bottom to open Profile.
- Scroll to the Account section and tap Delete account.
- Confirm by tapping Delete account again. You are signed out on every device.
Option 2: ask us by email
If you can’t open the app or sign in, email
[email protected]
with the subject “Delete my KOmpare account”, sent from the email
address on the account. To protect you, we may ask you to confirm the request from that
address before we act. We delete the account within 30 days of a confirmed request,
usually within a few business days, and reply when it’s done. The same deletion
schedule below then applies.
What is deleted
Immediately
- Your sign-in account: email address, password, sign-in codes and active sessions.
- From our servers: your email address, your name and business name, and the sales-tax
postal code and jurisdiction you entered.
- Deal links: links to trades that were paid online remain viewable to whoever holds the
link, as the customer’s receipt, with your name removed; other deal links are revoked,
and any checkout still open on one is closed.
- Customer names you recorded on trades.
Within 30 days
- Your trades and every card or sealed item on them, your inventory and opening stock,
your shows and show expenses, and the reports built from them.
- Records of deal-link checkouts that were never paid.
Data the app keeps on your phone stays there until you uninstall the app (or clear its data).
What is kept, and for how long
- Records of card payments made through your deal links that were paid
(including any later refunded or disputed) — amount, sales tax, platform fee, date,
status, and Stripe reference numbers (never card numbers or the customer’s contact
details). Kept for as long as we need them to meet tax, accounting, refund and dispute
obligations.
- Payment receipts — a deal link a customer paid through stays viewable
to the customer who holds the link, as their receipt: the cards, totals, sales tax, the show it was made at, and the
payment (and any refund). Your name and business name are removed from it.
- A minimal internal account record — an internal ID, the deletion date
and Stripe/app-store reference numbers, with no name or email — kept while those payment
records exist, so they stay consistent and a late store or Stripe notice can be matched.
- Aggregated and de-identified data (for example, market price statistics)
that does not identify you.
- Backups: deleted data can remain in our database backups until those
backups expire on our hosting provider’s rotation; backups are not used to restore a
deleted account’s data except to recover from a system failure.
- Anything we must keep to comply with the law, resolve a dispute or enforce our
Terms, for as long as that requires.
Not deleted automatically — ask us
Deleting your account does not remove the following. To have them removed, email
[email protected]
from the address on your account before you delete it (or include the
request in an emailed deletion request) and we will remove them by hand. Once the account is
deleted we no longer hold your email address, so we may not be able to find them.
They are:
- Card scan images you sent by correcting a scan (a cropped picture of a card
only, with the card you picked). They are labeled with an internal account ID, not your name
or email, and otherwise stay in our storage to train and improve card recognition, as
described in our Privacy Policy.
- Your product-analytics profile and events at our analytics provider,
PostHog. They carry an internal ID and never your email or name, and PostHog keeps them
under its retention settings, which we may shorten.
Data held by others under your own agreements with them is not deleted by deleting your
KOmpare account: purchase history at Apple or Google, and,
if you accepted card payments, your Stripe account. That Stripe account is
yours, not ours: it stays open, with its payout and tax records, until you close it from
your Stripe dashboard.
